LEGAL NOTICE – Petition for Approval of Plan for Redistricting Electoral Regions


The Board of School Directors of Northeastern School District has filed a petition with the Court of Common Pleas of York County, Pennsylvania, requesting approval of a Redistricting of the Regional Plan with three directors being elected from each of the three regions - Region 1 consisting of East Manchester Township and York Haven Borough, Region 2 consisting of Newberry Township (Electoral/Voting District 2), Manchester Borough, and Mount Wolf Borough, and Region 3 consisting of all of Conewago Township (Electoral/Voting District 1 and Electoral/Voting District 2) - in order to comply with Section 3-303 of the Pennsylvania School Code.  If approved by the court, five (5) directors will be elected in the 2019 Municipal Election to fill two (2) seats in Region 1 of the redistricted regional plan, two (2) seats in Region 2 of the redistricted regional plan and one (1) seat in Region 3 of the redistricted regional plan, and the four (4) remaining directors will serve the remainder of their respective terms (after the 2019) municipal Election) as a member of the respective redistricted region, which includes the municipality in which they reside and from which they were previously elected.  

The hearing date to consider said petition is set for the 21st day of August, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom No. #7003 of the York County Judicial Center, 45 North George Street, York Pennsylvania, 17401, when and where interested persons may appear.
