Mr. Jack B. Mackley

Mr. Mackley is currently the band director of the Northeastern Middle School Band, the NMS Jazz Band and the Northeastern Intermediate Band. He teaches band sectionals at NMS and  music lessons at Shallow Brook and Spring Forge Intermediate Schools. In addition to his band instruction, he teaches 8th Grade General Music for the Green and Orange teams.

Mr. Mackley began playing the French horn in 4th grade in the Central York School District. Later he began playing the piano and trumpet. He was very active in the music program at Central York as well as at York Alliance church, where he also directed the Bell Choir for several years. Mr. Mackley has played French horn in several community groups, including the Spring Garden Band. Currently, he plays with the First Capital Brass Quintet. 

Mr. Mackley graduated from Central York High School, earned his B.S. in Music Ed. from West Chester University and earned his M.M. in Music Ed. from Ithaca College. Mr. Mackley taught at Spring Grove High School in 1982, at the Christian School of York from 1982-1991, and began teaching at Northeastern in 1991. 

Mr. Mackley enjoys bike riding, disc golf and watching sports on TV.  He is a Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He is currently attending the Mosaic City Church in York City. He lives in York with his wife Mary Beth, his sons Andrew and Joshua and his 16-year old dog, Charcoal. His daughter Rebekah and her husband Blake also live in York.
